Giving Tuesday
Today is the day when many of us give back to our community. We encourage all of you to consider making a donation to help support education right here in Phoenixville.
I’d like to share a story of how your gift can make a difference:
Every Friday a first-grade student at Barkley Elementary named Julia* takes home a special blue backpack. In that backpack she has a weekend’s worth of easy-to-prepare food for her and her family.
Julia and 62 other PASD students used to go home for the weekend to insufficient sources of good nutrition, returning to school undernourished and not physically ready to learn.
PCEF sponsors the Phantom Foodpacks program, which provides these backpacks of food for Julia and other food-insecure PASD students, ensuring that ALL of our young pupils return to class on Monday ready to learn.
As part of #Giving Tuesday, you can make a donation to help provide these crucial supplies of food. You can also make a general donation to PCEF in support of all our work.
